Fun With Bouncy Balls!

When I was a little girl I collected those little bouncy balls that you got out of the nickel machines. Granny would buy one me whenever we saw them. One might wonder what a kids does with probably a hundred bouncy balls but I created my fun. I would put them all in a bucket and would stand at the doorway to my Granny's kitchen, raise the bucket over my head, and release them all over her kitchen. They would bounce EVERYWHERE, into the corner by the door leading to the basement (thankfully there was a door), into the sink, onto the counters, onto the top of the refrigerator, etc. I thought this was by far the most fun game ever. I would collect them all and repeat it over and over again.

I think every member of my family has told Matt about this craziness I used to do and we even have my bucket of balls in our closet. I am pretty sure they are dry rotted and would fall apart of we actually tried to bounce them but regardless, we have them.

So imagine my surprise and joy when I found my son in the kitchen with all his bouncy balls kicking them around and having a blast. Of course his balls are much bigger, but it still tickled me to death.

And then my love takes it one step further to make it more like my childhood memory without me saying a word...

You can only imagine how much I enjoyed this as they repeated the fun over and over again. Matt never ceases to amaze me with his little touches of love that mean so much. For him to think of that memory I had and to recreate it for me with Alex was so special.
