Water Fun!

This past weekend we went to Great Wolf Lodge, an indoor water park, with some good friends of ours, Susan, Allen and Logan Carmical. We had been to an indoor water park in French Lick when Alex was 8 weeks old. I stuck in him the water briefly there but he was too young to really know what was going on. This weekend he was able to play and really enjoyed himself. I think he is going to be a water bug for sure!
Showing off his new Gap swim outfit that his crazy Nana bought him.

Reagan, Matt and a sleeping Alex in front of the lodge.

Too busy playing to worry about a picture.

Sissy and Alex enjoying the water.

Who know a plastic tube could keep him so entertained!

He had a blast in the tube!

Look at this silly life jacket my Nana got me!

Our waterproof camera takes blurry pictures. Logan and Reagan. They don't know this but we have arranged for them to get married one day. :)

What in the world am I sitting on?
Silly face!

So worn out from swimming that he was asleep before we left the water park.

Snow Day!

This "winter" has been the craziest I can remember. I had bought Alex a snow suit back in early November because who would have thought he wouldn't get snow. Even if we didn't get a big one, we typically get a few small snows throughout winter. This year we did not. So after it snowed the 3-4 inches last Monday I had to get Alex out in his suit and snap some pictures because I fear it may be the only snow we get.
Our snow angel. The suit was so bulky he had trouble sitting up and tumbled!

Having fun with sissy!

Loves the snow!
It's hard to tell but he is putting his fingers in the snow in this picture. He would make this face and giggle.

Just for future readings I want to recap the weather we have had the past few weeks. The week of February 26 - March 3 was a warm one. Temperatures in the 70s. But that warm weather brought threats of sever weather twice that week and tornadoes in parts of Kentucky. That Friday, the 2nd, we were under extremely severe weather warnings and found ourselves hanging out in Kathy's basement after work listening to the sirens going off and watching Bill Meck keep us updated. Thankfully we did not have any tornadoes but several parts of Kentucky did and people are still recovering. Less than 72 hours later we woke up to 3-4 inches of snow on Monday morning. Tuesday brought us 60s and the snow was completely gone by Wednesday. This week we are hitting record temps in the 80s. Kentucky weather has been so strange this year!

Boppy Pictures...Not As Easy As They Used To Be...

When Alex was 1 month old, I started taking a picture of him on his boppy with a card saying which month it was. This picture was easy to do and only took us a couple of minutes. I would draw out the card, put the boppy on the couch, lay Alex on it, snap the picture, and we were done.
Alex's 1 month boppy picture.

As he started smiling it sometimes took a little longer if we tried to get him to smile at us. Well, the past 2 months he has been mobile. Laying down is not something he wants to do AT ALL. So this picture has become much more difficult. Plus he doesn't fit on the boppy very good anymore either.

His 8 month picture was quite difficult and entertaining for daddy and I:
Actually got a good one! But notice how BIG he is compared to that boppy.

And then it all went downhill, starting with Lexi playing with the sign.

So we put the sign on Alex.

But then he wanted to play with it.

And then Lexi wanted her picture taken too.

Gatti's Fun...

One of our favorite places to go to dinner with the family is Gatti's Pizza. The food isn't too bad and of course the Midway is fun for kids of all ages. After the play date, Matt and Reagan met me and Alex as well as Poppy, Mimi, Jerry, Mamaw, Paw, Sandy and John, at Gattis for a little food and fun. Everyone had a great time as usual!
Riding the roller coaster ride with daddy and sissy. Not so sure about this thing.

Carousel fun!

Ready to ride!

Sissy really is playing, we are just watching her.

Time For Another Play Date!

Well, once again I am late in posting but better late than never, right? That's at least what I will tell myself. :)

Late last month we had another play date with the babies. Unfortunately some last minute things came up for 2 of the mommies so there were only 5 there but it was still good to see everyone. We met at Sara's condo clubhouse this time and had a really good time. The group picture isn't as good as it usually is due to the fact that 4 of the 5 babies are now crawling and didn't really care enough about the picture to sit still. Eventually we resorted to bribery and Nancy had the job of handing out puffs to get them to sit still long enough for a picture.
Entertained by a spoon, toy keys, puffs and paper. Whatever it takes to get a group picture!

Alex was a little overwhelmed when we first got there. He had just woken up from a nap and I think he wasn't prepared for all the movement and noise. He wanted to stay close to mommy for most of the play date. Usually he is fine around a crowd but he just wasn't feeling it that day. We still had a good time and got some cute pictures though. The next play date is in April. By that point we will have some walkers, so those pictures should be even more entertaining!
